About the Dean of the College of Engineering

The Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Qasim Muhammad, completed his bachelor's and master's studies at the University of Basra - College of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Salford - United Kingdom, specializing in Geotechnics. He has more than (20 years) of teaching experience at the University of Basra and Shatt al-Arab University for both undergraduate and graduate academic studies. He published more than 20 research papers, most of which were in journals classified by Scopus and Clarivate. He also participated in a number of scientific conferences. He supervised a number of master's theses in Geotechnics at the University of Basra. He held several administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Shatt al-Arab University before being appointed Dean of the College of Engineering. He also participated in several temporary and permanent committees at the University of Basra and Shatt al-Arab University.
